The purpose of the Nanotechnology Academy is to introduce students to Nanotechnology and inspire interest in this emerging field of technology. The future is bright for careers in nanotechnology. According to the National Science Foundation, the number of workers involved in the nanotech industry worldwide is expected to soar to two million over the next fifteen years. In addition to civilian careers, there is also great promise within military, space and defense applications.
